Albany- Joseph E. Kallner, 63, passed away at the Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville, on Monday, February 13, 2006. He is now resting in peace with his parents Julia and John Kallner, his brother Jack Kallner and his grandson Charles Rorie III. Joseph was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country from 1960 to 1963. Upon his return he joined the Albany Fire Department where he was employed until his retirement in 1989.
He is survived by his wife Beverly Kallner, his three children Barbara Conyers, Todd Kallner and Mary Shutter, four step-children Joseph Hatala, John Hatala, Nancy O'Donnell and Robert Johnson, 10 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his two brothers Gerald and Arthur Kallner, his two sisters Theresa Conde and Cathy Kallner and her longtime companion Paul Lienbaum, his brother-in-law Frank Conde, sister-in-laws Barbara, Donna and Doris Kallner, 8 nephews and 4 nieces.
The family has opened an invitation to join them in honoring a man that was strong, caring and loved by many on Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd.,Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday following calling hours.
