ALBANY – Joseph E. Robinson, 67, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 8, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Joe was born on October 25, 1943 in Albany and was the son of the late Eugenie (Schloss) Robinson and Joseph C. Erwin. He was a graduate of Albany High School Class of 1961. He proudly served his country from 1963 to 1967 in the US Coast Guard that he loved. He worked for Niagara Mohawk which then became PSEG for 38 years, retiring in 2003 as a station shift supervisor.
Joe was a gourmet chef for his family and friends, enjoyed fishing at Martha's Vineyard for the past 40 summers, bowled at Sunset Recreation for over 40 years, also enjoyed carpentry and was an avid fan of the Yankees, Giants and Duke.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Pamela (Colliton) Robinson; his stepchildren, Adam Muhs (Holly) and Amy Muhs (Jesse VanLoan); his sisters, K. Ruth Marx (Robert) and Peggie Brunetto (Joe) and his stepfather, William C. Robinson. He was the beloved Unka to Suzi, Sandi, Ronnie, Vicki, Cyndi, Joe, and Joyce. He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at both Albany Medical Center Hospital and NYOH for the loving and compassionate care they gave to Joe.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at The Cathedral of All Saints, 62 South Swan Street, Albany, all are welcomed. Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment, Memory Gardens in Colonie.
