Albany - Joseph Esposito passed away peacefully in his sleep on 4/27/23. He was born on January 28, 1927 in Troy NY, to Katherine and James Esposito. He graduated from the University of Louisville with the hopes to become a Dentist.
He decided to join his family business, Fulton Fish in Troy NY. He met his wife, Nina Battaglia, of Arizona and had 4 children. With hard work and determination, he expanded his families small fish market to Fulton Prime Foods in Albany NY. He became the largest wholesale fish distributor in NY state. He took great pride in his company and relationships he built with his customers. In 1989 Sysco Foods purchased Fulton Prime.
Upon retirement he enjoyed traveling the world, watching sports, spending time with family and friends. Joe was devoted to his Catholic faith. He was a Lector at Christ the King Church for over 20 years. Joe is survived by his long term partner Kathleen Hobbs, his sister Betty Tozzi and Paul Roth, his 3 children, Catherine Weiner, Son in law Jake Weiner, Joe Esposito Jr. and James Esposito.
Predeceased by his son John Esposito. Joe was a proud Grandfather to Jeannette Weiner & Jared Weiner. He was even more proud of his great grandchildren Kendyl, Tessa and Landon. He was the best Grandpa. Everywhere he went he brought a picture album to show off all grandkids.
Relatives and friends are welcome to join the celebration of his life Friday, May 5, 2023 at New Comer 343 New Karner Road in Colonie from 2-4pm.
