Joseph George

NISKAYUNA – Joseph E. George, Sr., 63, of Niskayuna, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 13, 2005. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Francis Wilfred George and Esther White George. Mr. George was a life time resident of the Capital District. For most of his adult life he was a roofer by trade and a valued employee of Weatherguard Roofing. Joe was an avid outdoorsman and would seldom be seen without his fishing poles or hunting gear. He took great pleasure including his friends and family in these activities. Joe is survived by his long time friend and much loved companion, Helen Morgan. He is the beloved father of Joseph, Larry and Charles George, William Rue, Deanna George, Dawn George, Charlene Goodman and Lori Skoda. He is the stepfather of George and Jessie Lamere and Andrea and Tracy Morgan. Also surviving are 30 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one niece, one nephew, several cousins and his former wife, Maureen George. Joe was predeceased by his brother, Francis George and his sister, Barbara George. Joe's family is forever grateful to the doctors, nurses and staff of Ellis Hospital ICU who cared for him over the past several months. Their kindness and compassion will long be remembered.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Albany
