Joseph P. Igoe

Joseph Patrick Igoe, 56, of Albany, entered eternal rest on September 18th 2024.

Joey was born on February 20th 1968 at St Peters Hospital to Robert and Rosie (Galluzzo) Igoe of Albany.

From a young age Joey was a hard worker, whether it be working at the candy shop, a paper boy for the Times Union or being an alter boy at Blessed Sacrament Church. Everything Joey touched seemed to shine, and it showed through his carpentry and masonry work. Joey’s most sacred “job” was being a father, and he loved all of his children dearly.

On July 1st 2017, Joey married his best friend and life long partner, JoAnn (Vasilatos) Igoe. They enjoyed 36 years together and a lifetime of memories.

To know Joey was to love him. People from all walks of life could relate to him, whether it be through his love of bmx riding, skateboarding, music or being the best break dancer of his time. Joey’s smile was contagious, known for his curly locks and bright blue eyes. There was no one like him and he will forever be missed.

Joey was predeceased in death by his father, Robert W. Igoe. 

In addition to his wife, JoAnn, he is survived by his daughters, Alyssa, Mandy and Taydra; sons, Joseph and Jasyn; mother, Rosie; sister, Karen Cardin Igoe; brother, Robert Igoe (Catherine); and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews,

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie on Wednesday, September 25th, 2024 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a funeral service to be held at 6 p.m. Burial will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
