Joseph J. Fiato, Jr.

COLONIE – Joseph J. Fiato, Jr., 85, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at Albany Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Joseph was born on June 16, 1922 in Albany and was the son of the late Joseph J. and Martha Viglucci Fiato. He served in the US Army Air Force from 1942 to 1945 attaining the rank of Private First Class and worked for the NYS Department of General Services as a maintenance worker. He was an avid Yankees fan.
Joseph is survived by his daughter, Mary M. (John) Fiato Gyomory of Rotterdam; his brother, Salvatore J. (Christine) Fiato of Slingerlands and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Philomena Pavoldi Fiato and his two sisters and five brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. A calling hour will precede the service from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday.
