Joseph "Joejoe" Malatesta
April 30, 1936 — February 16, 2016
Schenectady- Joseph "Joe Joe" Malatesta, 79, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. He was born in Albany on April 30, 1936.
Joe was a longtime member of Local 294/338 as a truck driver and most recently at Fucillo Kia as courtesy shuttle driver. He enjoyed fishing, trips to the Racino, and had an overall joy for meeting people.
In addition to his parents, Joe and Rose DiNovo, Joe was predeceased by his beloved wife of 34 years Audrey, a son, Michael, a brother Patsy, and a sister Jeanette.
Joe will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Joe (Stacey), David, and Frank (Michelle Start); grandchildren, Lexi, Collin, David, Christopher, Kristen, Nicholas, Frank (Sarah), Michael, and Melissa; his siblings, Johnny, Tony, Jimmy, Nettie, and Sal; a sister-in-law, Ann; and many nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Joe's daughter-in-law Stacey for all her devoted care during his time of need.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on Friday, February 19, 2016 from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, Colonie. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, 9am at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
