Joseph M. Kozlowski, 61, of Colonie, NY, passed away at home on April 18, 2024 after complications of heart disease.
Joe was born on February 2, 1963 to Ruth Ellen (Gipp) Markus and the late Joseph K. Kozlowski in Niskayuna, NY.
Joe lived in North Carolina as a young child while his father was enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. His family later moved to East Greenbush, NY, where Joe graduated from Columbia High School. Joe delivered newspapers, worked at Huck Finn's Warehouse as a furniture refinisher; E.V. Hoyt, Roemer & Zeller Auto Parts, HQ, Walmart, Sysco, and was a daytime care provider for his youngest son.
Joe was mechanically inclined and was a masterful woodworker. Joe enjoyed nature, camping, fishing, cooking, gardening, music, old westerns, science fiction movies, and spending time with family.
Survivors include his wife, Lori Kozlowski, of 33 years; children Tara (Corey) Folber; Christopher and Tyler Kozlowski; and stepson, Shawn Roy; mother, Ruth Ellen Markus; siblings, Kenneth (April) Kozlowski and Ellen Genevieve (Wayne) Christiansen; stepbrothers, F. Richard and Paul Markus; nephews, Kyle Kozlowski, Luke and Jacob Christiansen; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Joe was predeceased by his father, Joseph Kozlowski; brother, Michael Kozlowski and stepfather, Frank Markus.
