Joseph L. Lassiter
May 8, 1933 — December 23, 2014
Joseph L. Lassiter, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2014 after a long illness. He loved Jesus and he loved people.
He was born in La Grange, NC and is survived by his wife of 31 years Christine Lassiter, brother Russell Williams of Albany, NY daughter Diane Canady-Smith, grandchildren Demetric Canady and Breanna D. Smith and great grandson Deamonte Wilson of Winterville, NC.
Joseph was the son of the late Mary Eliza and Wright Lassiter and brother of the late Jane B. Moore, Maude Barker, Corena Dawson and Eliza Hart.
He retired from the US Postal Service in 1992.
Special thanks to the staff and residents at Albany County Nursing Home who treated Joseph with compassion and kindness.
