Colonie- Joseph J. Maiello, 32, passed away suddenly Sunday, August 1, 2021 from an accidental drug overdose. Joseph was the son of Philip (Rosanne) Maiello and the late Theresa Ponessi Maiello.
Joseph is survived by his brother, Philip L. Maiello; his maternal grandmother, Gloria (Griffin) Ponessi and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Joseph is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Philip and Gloria Maiello and his maternal grandfather, Louis Ponessi.
Joey was kind and caring. He had a knack for being able to let go of anger and never blamed others for the mistakes he made. His brother, Phil was Joey's best friend, caregiver and life line, who stood by him no matter which direction life took him.
Services will be held privately and a Memorial Mass will be determined at a later date by the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Joseph's memory to SPARC, St. Peter's Addiction Recovery Center, 845 Central Ave, Albany, NY 12206.
