Joseph P. Navarro
Albany-Joseph P. Navarro passed away peacefully into eternal life with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the morning of February 24, 2025, just shy of his 83rd birthday.
Born on March 23, 1942, in Albany, NY, Joseph was a skilled and dedicated craftsman known for his tireless work ethic and his generous spirit in helping others. He proudly served as a member of the Sheet Metal Workers’ Union Local 83 for over 59 years and spent many of those years as a teacher at the Local 83 Apprenticeship School, sharing his knowledge and expertise with future generations of workers.
Joseph’s passions included spending time outdoors, boating, water skiing, fishing, hunting, exercising, and bowling, all of which brought him great joy over the years.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 27 years, Nancy, and by his parents, Ralph and Elizabeth Navarro. Joseph was the eldest sibling to Ralph Navarro and Elizabeth Nicklaus (Gary).
Joseph is survived by his children: Lynne Rodriguez (Ed), Susan Dupont (Ernie), Joseph Navarro (Mandy), and two adopted children from his second marriage, Sarah and Michael. He was a devoted grandfather to Kerri Sawyer, the late Ernest J. Dupont, Nicole Navarro, Joseph Navarro, Jennifer Morin (Matt), Cailee Navarro, and Carlee Guntert; and a proud great-grandfather to Zachary Sawyer, Megan Sawyer, Sophia Navarro, Aria Cerullo, Jackson Hanlin, Levi Morin, Benjamin Morin and Oliver Morin. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Joseph will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
