GUILDERLAND – Joseph O'Brien, 81, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2015 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn.
Joseph worked in the Maintenance Department for the Schenectady Gazette until retirement in 1998 after 30 years of service. He was also a security guard at Colonie Center for many years. Joseph was a collector of many things. He loved spending time with family and was always the jokester.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 40 years, Loraine (Magnan) O'Brien; stepdaughters Linda (Michael) Burnash and Carol Magnan; granddaughters Jennifer (Cosmo) Tropiano, Tammy (Michael) Bolduc, Julie (Eric) Lansing, and Kimberly (Kevin) DonVito, and eight great-grandchildren.
To honor the wishes of Joseph, there will be no calling hours. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
