Joseph V. Pannitti

Joseph Vincent Pannitti, 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 after a brief illness, with his loving family by his side. Joseph was the son of the late Vincent and Lucy Pannitti.

Joe was the devoted companion of over 32 years to Terri (Stebbins) Higgins.

Joe retired from NYS Department of Motor Vehicles after 31 years of service. He was also employed with the Times Union and retired after many years with them.

Joe's pride and joy were his grandsons and his family. He loved hanging out at OTB and going on vacations with his family and friends. Joe was one of the most kindest, giving and generous men you will ever meet. He will sadly be missed by all who knew him.

Joe is survived by his life companion, Terri "Dak" Higgins. He is the step-father of Jennifer (Jake) Durrer, grandfather of Jacob and Jaxson Durrer. He is the brother-in-law of Tracey (Rick) Jacques and Kelli (Rick) Bryant. He is the uncle of Ashley (Dan) Flansburg and Brittany Dawson (Cody Larosche).

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, NY on Sunday April 14, 2024 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. A celebrations of Joe's life will follow the calling hours at 12:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society 3 Oakland Avenue, Menands, NY 12204 in Joe's memory.
