GUILDERLAND - Joseph Peter Perrego, 73, died in his home March 8, 2012 with family present. Born August 13, 1938 in Middletown, N.Y., Joe attended St. Patrick's grammar school and graduated Vincentian Institute in Albany in 1957. He served in the US Marine Corp from 1957 to 1959. Joe retired in 1992 after 36 years with US Postal Service in Albany. He was a former member of Capital District Umpire Association, member of Guilderland Elks, member of Western Turnpike Golf Course, played fast pitch softball in Albany, Schenectady, Troy's Charlie Young League.
Joe is survived by his loving children, Kathleen (Howard) of Bethany, CT, Robert of NYC, Thomas (Teresa) of Cleveland, OH, Michael of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Gregory (Lynn) of Austin, TX and the late Joseph Jr. and his loving grandchildren, Dylan and Gianna. He is the brother of James Perrego of Port Jervis, NY, Gail Perrego Wachsmuth of Chester, MD; and the late Joan Perrego Jawarski of Newport News, VA.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumpter Ave., Guilderland. Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. The parish family of Christ the King Church will gather at 4:30 p.m. for a service of prayer and remembrance. There will also be a Memory Sharing Tribute at 7 p.m. by family and friends. All are welcome.
A graveside committal service will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rensselaer on Thursday at 11a.m.
