Joseph Pickel
August 30, 1952 — February 19, 2014
Joseph G. Pickel, 61, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2014 at Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital.
Joe was one of seven children born to the late Dr. Frank Pickel and Genevieve Pickel of Merrick NY. Joe was the loving husband of Kathleen (Miller)Pickel. They were happily married for 38 years.
Joe was self employed and operated a construction firm in Colonie for many years. He later operated Clearview Home Inspections Inc. and was an Officer with the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI).
Joe put his family and friends above all else. He is survived by his wife and two sons, Daniel and James, of whom he is most proud.
He is also survived by his cherished sisters Mary Docherty (Brian) and Genevieve Johnson and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by siblings Damien, James, Vincent and Dorothy Pickel.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Community Hospice of Albany County, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in Joe's memory.
Family and friends are invited and may call on Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 12:30 to 4:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie NY 12205.
