Joseph A. Russo

Albany- Joseph A. Russo, 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 12, 2017. Joe was the son of the late Leo and Helen Russo, and was the devoted husband of over 60 years to the late Davia (Johnson) Russo.

Joe enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served for three years as a private first class. He was an avid bowler, and always liked to have a good time with friends and family. Joe was a very generous man to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

Joe is survived his grandchildren: Melissa Doyle-Sanchez, Amy Blankenship, Kelly Vaughn, and John E. Doyle, Jr.; great grandchildren; Lucan J. Sanchez, Aric J. Sanchez, Lyssandra M. Sanchez, Skylar R. Blankenship, Jon D. Blankenship Jr., Mackenzie A. Vaughn, Jack H. Vaughn, Delaney A. Vaughn, John (Trey) E. Doyle III, Hannah Davia-Grace Doyle; "Baby Boy Doyle", and Christine Hornberger, who has been like a daughter to him.

In addition to his parents and wife, Joe is predeceased by his daughter: Davia A. Doyle.

A Calling hour will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY, on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. A funeral service will be held after the calling hour at 10:00 am with the burial to follow services at Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie.
