ALBANY – Joseph Vallejo, 79, of Albany, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 28, 2005 at the Veteran's Administration Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Nesquehoning, PA and was the son of the late Joseph and Rose Vallejo. Joe was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country during World War II as a paratrooper. He retired as a first class carpenter and welder from Local #370 in Albany after over 50 years. Joe was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed gardening and was a sports enthusiast. He is the beloved father of Joseph Vallejo, Jr. of Loudonville, Thomasina Massey, Kathy Browarski and Brian Pahler all of Albany. He is the brother of Elizabeth Esposito and her husband Ralph of Mahopic, NY and the late Laura Vallejo. He is the cherished grandfather of John Coonley and his wife, Michelle, Jeremiah Coonley and Kurt (Crista) Levanites. He is the great-grandfather of Dylan Robert Coonley, Jordan Pahler, Justin Levanites and the late Tyler Lane Coonley.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
