Joseph W. Korzyk

ALBANY – Joseph W. Korzyk, 58, of Albany, passed away peacefully on Thursday February 20, 2014 at St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Joseph and Ruth McIntyre Korzyk. Joe was a 1973 graduate of Cardinal McCloskey High School. He was a Sergeant with the Albany County Correctional Facility for several years. Joe was a Master Electrician and operated Korzyk Electric in Albany. He was a talented carpenter and enjoyed photography.
Joe is the beloved husband of 40 years to Kathy Grignon Korzyk. He is the devoted father of Jennifer Korzyk, Kelly (Armand) Marderosian and Stephanie Korzyk. He is the brother of Theresa (Tom) Flynn, Michael Korzyk and the late Walter J. Korzyk. He is the cherished grandfather of Brendon and Dillon Korzyk and Emma Marderosian. Joe is the nephew of Carol Roberts. He will be missed by his canine companion, Duffy.
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 10:45 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie then to Mater Christi Parish, Albany at 11:30 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
