Joseph Weis

Joseph William Weis, 49, of Schenectady NY, passed away on Sunday April 13th 2025 after a courageous fight with cancer. He was surrounded by his family. 

Joe was born in Albany. He graduated from Colonie High School and ITT Tech. He served in the US Navy as a E3 firefighter and Internal Communications. Joe worked as the service manager at Sanders Fire and Safety for 20 years, and then as tech support in Fire Alarms and Suppression at Kidde. He loved fishing, camping, kayaking, 4 wheeling and spending time with the ones he loved in the outdoors. Joe was always the life of the party, making jokes guaranteed to make you laugh no matter how sad you are. He always had a story to tell. 

He is the cherished husband of Jennifer Weis, loving father of Kalie Weis (Anthony Spanswick), stepfather of Cody Wason, Gracie Moskoff and Tivona Moskoff, beloved son of Bernard Weis Jr. (Elizabeth Weis) and Mary Leonardi, the proud papa of Alek Spanswick, loving brother of Bernard Weis III (Sharon Weis), and the late Andrew Weis. He is also survived by niece Aryanna Deutsch, nephews Lucas and Devan Weis, Hunter Otty as well as several cousins. 

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday April 19th from 1pm-3pm with a service starting at 3pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet NY 12189.
