Albany – Josephine M. (Gambetti) Halliday, age 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 19th at Teresian House. Josephine was born December 30, 1910 in Bronx, NY to Mary Righi Gambetti and Gaetano Gambetti. She resided in Rockland County prior to moving to Albany in 1977. Josephine was a retired bookkeeper and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Rockland County Chapter No. 371 for fifty-nine years. Her husband of 43 years, Maynard R. Halliday, passed away in 1975.
A devoted daughter, wife, and mother, Josephine is survived by her loving daughter, Georgiana Gierisch (Ronald) of Albany, granddaughter Lisa A. Pinney (Allen) and cherished great grandson Ryan L. Boehlke of Hooksett, NH. Also surviving are a niece, Catherine Dougherty, and nephews Arthur, Andrew, Joseph, and Larry Gambetti. Brothers Andrew and Edmund predeceased her.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the Teresian House staff for their excellent care and compassion to Josephine and her daughter during Josephine's illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10:00 at the Infant of Prague Chapel of Teresian House, 200 Washington Ave. Ext. Friends and relatives are invited to call Friday morning at Teresian House from 9:00 to 10:00. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Nyack, NY 10:30 Saturday morning.
