Josephine A. Klouse

Colonie- Josephine A. Klouse, 82, passed away at her home on April 1, 2017. Born in Albany, NY on April 13, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Anna Gatto. She celebrated over 40 years of marriage to Daniel Klouse, who predeceased her in 2003. Josie worked for many years as a salesperson at Macy's in Colonie Center.
Josie liked to travel, both long distance and day trips. Her favorite of all of her trips was a vacation to Hawaii with Dan. Josie enjoyed spending time on Caroga Lake with her son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. She would frequently attend activities with her friends at the Kuhn Center in Colonie. Along with her husband, she was a member of the Colonie Elks.
Josie's true joy in life was her grandchildren and great-grandson. She always made it a point to attend as many of the kid's activities as she could. Especially, Colonie Raiders basketball games and her granddaughter's dance recitals. Several proud moments for her was attending her grandson's graduation from Elmira College and the weddings of Amanda to Dustin and David to Karen. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Josephine is survived by her loving sons: Daniel (Cindi) Klouse and David (Tenley) Klouse; her beloved grandchildren: Amanda (Dustin) Pusatere, David (Karen) Klouse, Alexandra (Sean) Craig, Benjamin Klouse and Zachary Klouse; her great-grandson Caleb Craig; her brother, Salvatore (Karen) Gatto and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Josephine was predeceased by her siblings: Tony Gatto, Phyllis LaBarbera, Rose Kalohn and Mary Ann Gatto.
Memorial visitation will be held from 9 am to 10 am on Saturday, April 8 at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A memorial service will be held at 10 am. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
