Latham- Josephine M. Giacoppe (Mirabile), 90, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Josie was born on July 4, 1925 to the late Anthony and Anna Cappellano in Albany, NY. She was a homemaker and later went on to work at Hallmark in Colonie Center for many years. At 88 years old Josie embarked on an extraordinary cross country motorcycle journey. Josie was a true adventurer.
Josie was predeceased by her husbands; Joseph Mirabile in 1953, and Stephen Giacoppe Jr. in 1977.
She is survived by her children; Charles A. (Theresa) Mirabile, and Maria Giacoppe Kulseng, her grandchildren; Joseph (Stephanie) Mirabile, Daniel Mirabile, Matthew Mirabile, Kim Kulseng, Marisha Kulseng, and Edwin Kulseng, her great grandchildren; Karleigh and Nicholas Mirabile, and her loving cousins; Michael (Maryann) and Louis (Amelia) Urbano.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 on Sunday, February 14, 2016 from 12:00pm-2:00pm with a prayer service to conclude the calling hours. A mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Rd, Albany, NY 12211, on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 12:30pm. Burial will take place at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands, NY.
