Josephine Marx

COLONIE – Josephine E. Marx, 77, of Colonie, passed away on Wednesday September 6, 2006 at Ellis Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Fonda, NY and was the daughter of the late John and Florence Luciano Zannitto.
Josephine had worked in retail for many years, most recently at Bradlee's Department Store in Niskayuna, retiring in 1996. She was predeceased in 1985 by her husband George J. Marx Jr.
Josephine is the beloved mother of George J. (Monica) Marx III, Susan (Gus) Glitsis and the late Georgianna Palo (husband Richard). She is the sister of Carrie Compani, Mary Grasso, Anna Moore, Mildred Palleschi, Dolores Wohlgemuth and the late Angelina Carbone, Joseph, Peter and Catherine Zannitto. She is the cherished grandmother of Kimberly Marx, Philip Glitsis, Dawn Marx and George J. Marx IV. She is also survived by 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 8:15 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to the Church of St. Clare at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 216 Osborne Rd.
