GUILDERLAND, NY – Josephine R. Forgea, 89, of Guilderland, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2008 at the Stratton V.A. Medical Center. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary A. Fitzpatrick. Jo grew up in Albany's south end and lived in the Albany and Guilderland area for all of her life. She served in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corp. during World War II. Jo worked for the New York Telephone Company for many years and then for the Teresian House. After her retirement, she volunteered at the V.A. Hospital. She was a communicant of Christ the King Church. Jo enjoyed her family, grandchildren, friends and neighbors. Josephine was the beloved wife of the late Raymond A. Forgea. She is the devoted mother of Richard (Cheryl) Forgea, Maureen (Frank) Goyette and the late Raymond P. Forgea. She is the cherished grandmother of Dr. Kimberly Goyette and her husband, Dr. Michael Lim, Kevin Goyette and his wife Eleanor and Kristen Forgea. She is the loving great-grandmother of Jasper Lim-Goyette, Meara Lim-Goyette and Abigail Goyette. Jo was predeceased by her brothers, Rev. Cletus Fitzpatrick, Richard, John, Michael and Joseph Fitzpatrick and her sister, Ann Gimondo. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday morning at 10:00 at Christ the King Church. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. Calling hours will be Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). The parish family of Christ the King will gather at 4:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home for a service of prayer and remembrance. All are welcome.
