GUILDERLAND – Joyce C. Allen, 75, of Guilderland passed away peacefully on Saturday May 8, 2010 surrounded by her loving family.
Joyce was born in Bridgeport, NY and was the daughter of the late Helene and Lewis Wade. She had worked for Niagara Mohawk Power Company where she met her husband Robert in 1957. Joyce was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed music and the theatre. Joyce was extremely creative throughout her life and was a talented seamstress and cook. One of her greatest gift was to bring people together and care for their needs.
Joyce is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Robert W. Allen; her children, Pam Allen, Stephanie (Robert) Clauson and Stephan (Jean Cox) Allen. She is the sister of Donald Wade. Joyce is the cherished grandmother of Jamie Clauson, Matthew and Sara Allen.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday from 11 am to 1 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Interment will be private. In keeping with Joyce's spirit of giving, memorial contributions are suggested to the Capital City Rescue Mission, 259 South Pearl Street, Albany NY 12202.
