Joyce C.(Brunelle) Nead

SCHENECTADY – Joyce C. (Brunelle) Nead, 68, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2008 at Ellis Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Joyce was born on October 16, 1939 in Chicopee, MA and was the daughter of the late Violet Brunelle Wagoner and Frank Brunelle. She was an executive secretary for the NYS Education Department for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the Alplaus United Methodist Church.
Joyce's family was her life; she enjoyed spending time with them especially making Halloween costumes for her grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her children, Linda A. Nead, Laurie M. Nead, Debra J. (Andrew) Butler, Charles H. Nead Jr., John J. (David Reed) Nead, Denise M. Nead and Michele M. (Maggie Bryant) Nead. She is the proud grandmother of Christopher and Amy Carpentier, Zachary, Dylan and Noah Thibodeaux, Ashley, Amber, Michael, Joshua, Samantha, Bethany and Ian Oliver and Christopher Nead, and one great-grandson, Hunter Hollins. She is also survived by her sister, Denise M. (Donna DeFreest) Schultz; her brother-in-law, John J. Schultz; her nephew, John JLT Schultz and her dear friend, Helen King. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles H. Nead Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will follow at Memory's Garden in Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
