Joyce M. Conaway

Joyce M. Conaway, 82, wife of the late Sherman "Sherm" Conaway passed away at her home surrounded by her family on June 1, 2023.
Born in Albany, she moved to Colonie when Sand Creek Rd. was, "still a dirt road", as she would say.
She, along with Sherm, ran Conaway & Sons Blacktop paving. In her later years she worked at Albany Memorial Hospital in the Workers Compensation department
Joyce was a dedicated garage sale hunter. Every Friday she would be out with her newspaper and maps- when paper maps were still a thing. There was nothing you needed that she couldn't find. She was an avid bowler, and most recently when she wasn't home you could find her at the Casino where everyone knew her name.
She is survived by her children John Conaway, Kimberly Stey (Michael), Grandchildren Michelle Conaway CMSgt,USAF, Michael Conaway (Melissa), Mark Conaway, Shaun Stey, Jillian Stey; Great-grandchildren Michael, Jacob, and Emma Conaway, Daughter in law Kelly Flint, and good friend and poker playing pal, Floyd Marr.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, 1389 Central Ave., Colonie NY 12205.
