ALBANY – Joyce E. (Gallager) Stangle, 78, lost her battle with cancer on Friday, August 16, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She attended Albany High School and was in the 1956 Tulip Queen Court. Joyce raised her family in Loudonville and spent her golden years with her family. She was known for her love of Willie Nelson, family gatherings, visiting Cape Cod and casinos.
Joyce is the beloved mother of Vicki (David) VanAlstyne, Cindy Lauri, Roger Stangle Jr., Patricia (Kerry) Chesterfield and Jeffrey (Peter Swiatek) Stangle. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Joyce's family would like to thank the hospice staff, especially Nurse Bonnie for all of their support and kindness.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Joyce E. Stangle.
