Albany- Joyce Ellen Sager passed away at her home on September 3, 2015. She was 84 years old.
The daughter of the late Reginald and Elvie (Anthony) Weatherby, she was born on April 3, 1931 in Voorheesville, NY. She married Frederick J. Sager, Jr. on October, 29, 1949.
Joyce had a great love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and rejoiced in their accomplishments. She enjoyed travelling and had recently visited Yellowstone National Park with her son Mark. Nature was also among her favorite interests.
She is survived by her children: Katherine J. MacNeil, Frederick J. Sager III, Mark A. Sager; her 10 grandchildren: Erick, Jennifer, Theresa, Jacquelynn, Greg Jr., Benjamin, Anna, MaryEllen, Eileen, and Aaron and her 17 grandchildren; her brother Ronald Weatherby; her sister Joan Prout; many nieces, nephews, cousins and her special friend Pat.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, Frederick J. Sager, Jr., her sister Dorothy Jean Whitehouse, and her close friend Phillip Torre.
A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
