Albany- Joyce M. Haupt, 86 passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 9th, 2018 at the Teresian House.
Born in Hudson on August 14, 1932, a daughter of the late Verner and Pearl Plass Miller. A lifelong resident of the area, Joyce worked for various companies including the RTA Corporation on Broadway and the Town and Country Bowling alley.
Joyce was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary with the Joseph E. Zaloga Post 1520. She loved to go camping and fishing with her late husband, Raymond, and she loved her musicals. A favorite past time of Joyce's was playing cards, especially Pinochle. She also loved to crochet, just ask her family, as they all have pieces that she made for them. Joyce also loved to dance, which she did from her early childhood years all the way through retirement. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Joyce was well loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.
Joyce will be reunited with her loving husband of 61 years, Raymond J. Haupt; her son, Raymond W. Haupt; sister, Pauline McGiffert; brother, Verner Miller, and her favorite cat, Sweatpea. She is survived by her daughter, Diane McDonald (Jeff) and son, Paul Haupt (Christina); daughter-in-law Michele; niece Bonnie (Ron) who she loved as a daughter; grandchildren, Jenine (Gary), Carrie (Dan), Kristen (Zackery), Tracy (Ryan), Raymond E. (Chelsea), Paul J. and Andrew; Great-grandchildren, Hunter, Alexis, Dustin, Christopher, McKenna, Kinley, and Kaylee, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her best friends for over 70 years, Ida Mae and Alden TenEyck.
Calling hours will be from 1-3pm on December 16, 2018 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, 12205. The Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 2:45pm. A funeral service will follow at 3pm. Interment will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 2pm at Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Whiskers Animal Benevolent League, P.O. Box 11190, Loudonville, NY 12210.
