Joyce M. Bordeau, 91, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2015 at The Community Hospice Inn.
Joyce was born March 28, 1923, in Schenectady, NY, the daughter of the late Crawford P. and Marian Alice Flagg. Joyce was a graduate of Draper High School. She worked at the Schenectady Credit Bureau for several years and after working for the New York State Police Lab for many years, Joyce retired in 1985.
She has lived in Guilderland for the past 33 years and was an active member of the Lynwood Reformed Church since 1977 where she volunteered her time at various events.
Joyce enjoyed embroidery, and was the last member of her GA Embroidery Group. Joyce was also a member of New England Women and served a term as president of the society. Proud of her heritage, she created volumes of photos and documents reflecting her family's history as far back as the 15th century. Joyce also enjoyed swimming, reading and being with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Delfis E. Bordeau Sr., her brother Herbert Flagg and sister-in-law Ann Flagg.
Joyce is survived by her two children, Diana Bordeau [Marchewka] of Waterford, CT and Delfis E. (Nancy) Bordeau Jr., of Niskayuna, NY. She is the cherished grandmother of Michael Marchewka and Lauren (Benjamin) Putnam. She is also survived by her two great granddaughters; Zoe and Piper Putnam and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 11:00 am at New Comer Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 9:00 to 11:00 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Parkview Cemetery, Schenectady.
