Joyce M. Cosgrave

COLONIE, NY – Joyce M. Cosgrave, 76, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 27, 2009, after a brief illness. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Gertrude Arras. Joyce lived in the Capital District for most of her life. She was an avid N.Y. Yankees fan and enjoyed doing word search puzzles. Joyce was a loving and generous mother and grandmother who loved cooking and spending time with her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Cosgrave. Joyce is the devoted and loving mother of Donna Musella of Schenectady, NY, Anthony (Julienne) Cosgrave, Jr. of Locke, NY and Timothy (Kimberly) Cosgrave of Waterford, NY. She is the sister of Robert (Patricia) Arras of Cohoes and the late Ronald Arras. Joyce is the cherished grandmother of Michael Musella, Anthony Cosgrave, III, James Cosgrave and Brittany Cosgrave. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Patricia Arras and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday at 8:45 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to St. Mary's Church in Waterford where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Calling hours will be /Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern NY, Pine West Plaza, Bldg. 4, Suite 405, Washington Ave. Extension, Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Joyce M. Cosgrave.
