Joyce Rae Theune

Joyce Theune, 100, wife of the late Earl Theune of Loudonville, NY passed away on January 20,2025. Born September 9, 1924, in Duane, NY, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Rae Moore. 

Joyce graduated from Franklin Academy of Malone, NY. She, then, continued her education at Potsdam State Teachers’ College where she met Earl, the love of her life. Joyce married Earl after WWII and remained happily married for 72 years. Together, they worked side by side as owners of Earl’s Bake Shop in Albany, NY. 

Joyce was an active member of Loudonville Presbyterian Church where she faithfully served as deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years.

She is survived by her children; Joelle Maczek and her husband, John of East Greenbush; Lynn Theune; and Bradley Theune of Colonie; a granddaughter, Beth Maczek of Boston; and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her loving husband, Earl; Joyce was predeceased by her son, Martin; her parents; her brothers, Wilbur and Howard; and sister, Barbara. 

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Joyce's name to Loudonville Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
