Juan Antonio Vasquez, 70, of Albany, New York formerly of New York City died peacefully in Albany on Friday, September 16, 2011.
Juan was born on March 8, 1941, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, the first son of Juan Vasquez and Dolores Vega. In 1945, the family moved to New York City, where Juan lived for most of his life.
Juan was a classical singer and toured the U.S., Europe and Latin America for many years. He sang with the Robert Cormier chorus and with Mira Gilbert on the children's show "The Color of Life" in 1970. He pursued music and art with deep appreciation and love.
Juan was predeceased by his parents Juan and Dolores Vasquez, his brother Raphael Vasquez, and his beloved cousin Dolores Garcia. He is survived by his sisters, Josephine Vasquez and Dolores V. Freda, his beloved nieces and nephews and their children and many cousins. He will be missed by his dear friend Bari Gilbert along with countless colleagues and friends.
