Juanita D. Lacy

Juanita Dorothy Lacy was born April 25, 1940 in Albany, New York to the late Thomas Lacy and Lelia Denson Lacy.

She was educated in the Albany City School District and later went on to work for the District as a school Nutrition Assistant. Juanita also worked for Albany Housing Authority at the Evelyn Cromwell Center (formerly Ida Yarborough Community Center). "Nita", as she was also known, retired from the School District in 2002.

Juanita was called to rest on Saturday, April 7, 2012. She was preceded in death by her loving companion, David (Poochie) McGee, two brothers, Lawrence (Coke) Jones and Samuel L. (Jimmy) Lacy, and a sister Lelia Owens.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children Denson Lacy (Mary Ann), Leslie McGee-Covington (James), Talmadge (Tom Thumb) Lacy, Steven Lacy (Susan) and Lance McGee (Denise); five brothers, three sisters, fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 2pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. Viewing hours are from 12:00 noon to 2pm.
