Colonie – Judith M. Avina, 63, passed away suddenly Monday February 28, 2011 at her home. She was born in Albany on June 20, 1947. "Judie" was daughter of the late Robert and Marion Salladin and the beloved wife of the late Patrick David Avina. She was a graduate of Colonie Central High School Class of 1965 and worked for SPARC (St. Peter's Addiction and Recovery Center) and Tough Love in Albany. Judie was a dedicated mother and grandmother who enjoyed crocheting, gardening, canasta, the family marble game and summers at Sacandaga Lake but above all she loved to spend time with family and friends.
She is survived by her loving daughters Debra Avina and Darcy (Steve) Hausler, sons Joseph (Danielle) Avina and Jon (Heather) Avina , grandchildren David, Jessica, Jaden and Eli, sister Carol A. (Robert) Hendrick and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Thursday 1:00pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd.,Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 12:00 to 1:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mohawk and Hudson River Humane Society 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204.
