ALBANY-Judith E. Whydra, 77, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. She was born in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late Walter F. and Ruth J. (Wiedenm) Filsinger. Judy was devoted to her beloved family. While her children were in school, Judy was very involved with St. Casimir's Parish including the PTA and Ladies' Guild. She also volunteered and participated in plays and fundraising at St. Casimir's.
Judy is survived by her son Daniel (Anne) Whydra and her daughter Dawn-Marie (Mark) Livingston; grandchildren Jamielynn (Matthew) Poggoli, Jennifer L. (Oscar) Boomer, Matthew T. (his fiancée Crystal Stephenson) Whydra, David D. Whydra, Jessica L. Alonso, Janastasia L. Whydra, Joseph M. Livingston, Shawn J. Livingston and Amanda D. Livingston. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Dominic Poggoli, Anthony Poggoli, Star Whydra, Emily Alonso, Natalia Alonso and Aria Poggoli; several nieces and nephews; and "family" members Carol Agrusti, Bob (Joanne) Majkut and Juan Alonso.
In addition to her parents, Judy was predeceased by her husband Thomas J. Whydra, her daughter Donna-Lynn Whydra, her sister Patricia (Harold) Bieber and her "adopted mother" Marian (Bill) Tibbitts.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Church, Central Ave., Albany.
Interment will be at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
