Judy Marie Gardella

January 21, 1947 — August 19, 2022

On August 19, 2022, Judy Marie Gardella, beloved wife of Ronald Gardella, got her wings and went to walk with angels. Her life of faith and love has prepared her well for this journey.

Born January 21, 1947, in Edmundston New Brunswick, Canada. She was the second daughter of the late Marie Ange and Alexandre Comeau. Judy attended Madawaska School in northern Maine. She graduated in 1965, obtaining employment at Northern Trading Company in Madawaska. Judy met Ron while he was stationed at Loring Air Force Base.

Judy and Ron were married on August 8, 1970 in Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Madawaska, Maine. The loving couple later moved back to Ron's hometown in New York State. They began in Canajoharie, then Potsdam, before settling in Guilderland, NY. Eight years later, their only son Adam, arrived on a cold, wintery March day. Judy devoted her life to Adam, Ron, and her family. In the late1990s, Judy began employment of her at Wildwood School, in the staff's daycare where she retired in 2006. Judy became part of the children's family, as she gave each baby lots of love and attention.

In 2005, Judy and Ron welcomed Kristina into their life as their future daughter-in-law. Judy and Ron were instrumental when planning Adam and Kristina's wedding. She was so happy to be considered another mother of the bride. In May of 2008, Judy's only granddaughter, Rowen Grace, was born. In July of 2011, Judy's only grandson, Asher Steven was born. Theirs was a love like no other! Judy loved to sing, dance, play games, and would spend as much time on the floor as the kids. Each child had special rituals for sleepovers. For instance, Asher was taken to Lowe's to sit on all of the prized tractors (something that Adam would have never been allowed to do). Judy and Rowen would spend hours dressing up and giving fashion shows. As the kids grew, Judy and Ron attended most school and sports functions. They were always ready for invites from the kids, no matter the upcoming event.

When Judy was not caring for others, she loved traveling, enjoying over 20 cruises and seeing many wonders of the world. She was a scrabble winner, progressive rummy champion, and an avid reader of inspirational stories. Judy was a self-proclaimed comedienne, enjoying the laughter of others. She was a chef of few, but cherished dishes, such as beef stew, chili, and grilled veggies. Best of all was Judy's mashed potatoes.

Judy began and ended every day with her daily prayers. She loved angels and used their magic in difficult situations. Judy was a two-time breast cancer survivor, making it through both times thanks to prayers, love, and family. Although separated by distance, Judy remained close to her parents and three sisters with phone calls, emails, and regular visits.

Judy is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Ronald of Guilderland, NY. As well as, her son Adam and daughter-in-law Kristina (Matott-Gardella), her prized grandchildren, Rowen and Asher of Guilderland. Her sisters and brother-in-laws: Joyce and Linwood Crosby of Lisbon, ME, Carol and Mike Bonneau of Montreal, Canada, Mary and Luc Morin, of Madawaska, ME and Mona and Willard Gaskell of Lynn Haven, Fl. Nieces and nephew including Nicole Craig, Amber Morin, Marc and Melanie Bonneau, and great nieces, Alexa and Marianne.
