COLONIE – Julia A. Danelwitz, 89, of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at the Inn of Community Hospice after a brief illness.
She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Enrico and Angela Cardettino. Julia was predeceased by her husband John Danelwitz in 1994. She was a stitcher at the former J. DeBeers Baseball Company for many years. Julia enjoyed bingo, Saratoga race track and games of chance.
She is the beloved mother of Ann (Joseph) Welch of Loudonville and Angela (George) Baranski Jr. of Albany. Julia is the sister of Mrs. Ann Elia of Colonie and the late Rose Rovelli and Joseph Cardettino. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 11:00 at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, Maria Drive, Loudonville. Calling hours will be Friday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 at the Church, prior to Mass. Entombment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Julia A. Danelwitz.
