Julia L. Wood

COLONIE – Julia L. Wood, 93, of Colonie, entered the gates of heaven on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the Teresian House.
Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of the late Miguele and Julia Atala and was the widow of Melvin Francis Wood Sr.
Julia had a love and passion for cooking. She worked in the catering business most of her life until she retired.
Julia is survived by her seven children, Melvin Francis Wood Jr., Gene Wood, Lee (Tom) Connors, and Teresa Figueroa all of Colonie, Mitchell (Debbie) Wood of Clifton Park, Sandra (Joe) Ravita of Mississippi, and Peter (Debbie) Wood of Minnesota. Julia also has 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Monday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will follow at Memory's Garden in Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
