MENANDS-Julia Viger, 95, of Menands, NY passed away on Monday, July 1, 2013 at Samaritan Hospital, Troy. She was born in Cropseyville, NY the daughter of the late Lukas and Maria Palubniak. Julia and her late husband Archie J. Viger, Sr. owned and operated Barney's Restaurant in Albany.
Julia is survived by her son A. Joe Viger, Jr. of Menands, her grandchildren Ashley J. Viger of NY and Nicole L. Hornsby of PA, great grandchildren Madison and Evan Hornsby of PA, her sisters Mary Sarnacki of Troy and Rose Madraga of Las Vegas, NV and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Julia was predeceased by her brothers Walter and Steve Palubniak and by her sisters Olga Burke, Esther Laskow, Anna Dmyterko and Helen Russ.
A graveside service will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands at a date and time to be announced.
Contributions may be made to Samaritan Hospital (Hospice Unit), Troy in memory of Julia.
