ALBANY – Juliann M. Speanburg, 78, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Watervliet, she was the daughter of the late Julian and Katherine Darmetko. Mrs. Speanburg worked for the Freihofer Baking Company, retiring after forty years of service. After retirement, she worked as a crossing guard for the Albany City School District. She enjoyed crocheting and shopping.
Julie is the beloved wife of the late Richard A. Speanburg. She is survived by her nephew, John (Sue) Darmetko; niece, Cathy Manning; great-nephew, Michael Manning; great-niece, Michelle Darmetko and great-nephew John Darmetko. Also surviving is her brother-in-law, Russell Parker. In addition to her husband, Julie was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Cemetery on Delatour Road, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell Street, Albany, NY 12208 in memory of Juliann M. Speanburg.
