Troy - Julie B. Jensen, 66, passed away peacefully early Friday morning, March 28th, surrounded by her loving family. Julie was the beloved daughter of the late Anthony and Julia Baris, and the devoted wife to Randy Jensen, whom she was married to for over 37 years.
A lifetime resident of New York, Julie was born in Utica and later raised in Liverpool. She settled in Troy as an adult, married, and together they raised 5 children. Julie had many layers and wore many hats. As a dedicated daughter, hardworking business owner and entrepreneur, there were still no roles she took more pride in than being a deeply devoted wife, mother, and Nana. Never short of words, she had a stern, sarcastic wit and humor that defined her fierce personality. She was very passionate about all subjects she felt strongly about. She enjoyed many things, but it didn't matter so much what she was doing, but rather who she was sharing it with. Providing assistance, joy, fun, and happiness to others is what shaped her experiences in life. She was incredibly selfless and poured herself into everyone around her, in turn becoming a supportive figure and/or second "Mom" to countless others. Julie referred to her family as "her loves, her immortality", and therefore her devotion, love, and loyalty will live on through them forever.
Julie is predeceased by her parents, and her brother Michael Baris. In addition to her husband Randy, she is survived by her children Nicole Neisen (Nate), Christina Jensen, Michael Jensen, Stephen Jensen, Annamarie Pontari (Paul); her grandchildren Gabrielle, Alexander, Julianna, and Giovanni; her siblings John (Betty), Anthony, Paul (Julia), and Maria Baris; as well as a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy-Schenectady Road, Watervliet, on Wednesday April 2, 2025 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
