June 13, 1928 — February 24, 2017
June E. Avellino, 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24, 2017 at her home with her loving family by her side.
June was the daughter of the late Lester and Grace (Senecal) Fifield.
June was the devoted wife of over 55 years to the late Louis P. Avellino.
She enjoyed playing BINGO, playing Rummy with her husband, watching the NY Yankees and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, June was predeceased by her son, Michael J. Avellino, her son-in-law James P. Urso and three brothers and three sisters.
June is survived by her beloved children, Philip (Susan) Avellino, Deborah (Norm Goodell) Urso, Lori (Lee Dickinson) Dessingue, Louis (Kathleen) Avellino and her son-in-law Edmund Dessingue. She is the cherished grandmother of Joey and Christopher Avellino, Scott (Janell) Dessingue, Ashley (Stephen) Antone, Michael Dessingue, James and Nicole Urso. She is the great grandmother of Gianna and Clare Antone and Connor and Greyson Dessingue. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, on Monday, February 27, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
