June R. Stammel

Schodack, NY – June R. Stammel, 81, of Schodack, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2008. Born in Albany on July 14, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Ilah (Brown) Roberts. June was married to Raymond Stammel who predeceased her 19 years ago. June was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Wynantskill. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Vera Eastman and two brothers, Hugh and Phillip Roberts. June is the mother of Paula (Walter) Schwinning of Malta and Claudia (George) Stanton of Pepperell, MA. She is the grandmother of Teri Moore of London, England, Sheri Szemplinski (Frank) of Colonie, Scott Schwinning of Colonie, Brian (Marion) Stanton, Erin (William) McMahon and Kendra Stanton, all of Pepperell, MA. June is the great-grandmother of Justin Moore, Haylie Szemplinski, Travis and Ashley Blood, Trevor and Taylor Stanton and Matthew and Allyson McMahon. She is the sister of Bette Roberts of East Greenbush. June's family would like to express their special thanks to Bob and Gail Van Kuren of Albany for their constant loving care of June.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday from 11:00 to 12:00 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in East Schodack. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 155 Washington Ave., Suite 210, Albany, NY 12210 in memory of June R. Stammel.
