June Ruth Harrington

February 23, 1928 — April 4, 2016

ALBANY- June Ruth Harrington, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 4, 2016 with her loving daughters by her side.

June was born in Albany, NY on February 23, 1928 to the late Charles and Ruth Rogers. June was a graduate of Albany High School in 1947 and went to work for Albany High School the very next day as a secretary to the principal. In 1948 she married the love of her life, Edwin F. Harrington. June had four children and was a loving stay at home mom, and in 1968 she went to work for New York State Dept. of Civil Service. In 1992 Edwin passed away. They were married for 44 years. June's passion in life was music and singing. June loved watching Jeopardy, playing Scrabble, going to Bingo, and crocheting afghans for childrens' charities. She was a communicant of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, in Albany, NY.

June is predeceased by her husband, Edwin F. Harrington, her twin sister, Mae Rogers, her brother, James Rogers, and her son-in-laws, William Polit, and Robert Lipkin.

June is survived by her children, Patricia (Donald Burke) Polit, Pamela Lipkin, Judith(former husband, Jay Silber) Harrington, James (Denise) Harrington, Dennis (Jacquelin) Harrington, her grandchildren; Michelle (Jeff), Rebekah (Gregory), Robin (Eddie), Jesse, Stephen (Billie), Philip, Joseph, Diane(Gary), and Marc(Kim), her great-grandchildren; Ryan, Julia, Emerson, Aja, Judah, Ivy, Valentina, Kaleb, Kaydence, Cecelia, Cole, Caitlyn, Michaela, and Kaden.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Many thanks to the staff and residents at the Wesley Community in Saratoga Springs for loving mom and taking such good care of her these past four years. Deepest gratitude to mom's favorite caregiver at home, Alissa Hewitt.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in June's name to the New England Presbyterian Congregational Church Hunger Fund, 24 Circular St, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
