With great love and sadness, the family of June Keiski Weinman announces her passing.
June (Kesäkuu) Keiski Weinman, 89, of Albany, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded by her entire family. She was the wife of Kenneth Edward Weinman for 65 years.
Born on June 16, 1935 in Shushan, NY to the late Andrew Keiski and Helen (Walli) Keiski Sisson. She was lovingly raised by her Finnish aunts Mary (Great Gram/Ma Keiski) Riittonen and Nelma (Nem) Keiski McLenithan whom we all adored.
Mrs. Weinman was a graduate of Washington Academy '52, Salem, NY and Mildred Elley. She worked at Fuller Brush Company then as office manager at her husband's family business, Albany Burner Control until her retirement.
She was a fixture in Pine Hills with daily trips to Price Chopper, CVS, Natalie, our family tailor whom she considered a friend; and on Colvin Ave with trips to the bank, Iron Horse for lunch and picking up special gifts from Andrea of America.
She is survived by son Daniel of Albany, daughters Susan (David) O'Keefe of Delmar; Amy Neiles, Wendy Weinman, and Tammy (Michael) Gaynor all of Albany; grandchildren Laura (Cordell) Gailliard of Colonie; Kory (Shelby) of Delmar, Nikolas (whom she shared a very special bond with) of Albany and Benjamin (Alanah) Asher of Voorheesville; Ryan of Peoria, Il and Megan O'Keefe of Clifton Park; Sienna, Saige June and Sy Neiles of Albany; great-grandchildren Lia, Trelin, Cameron, Truan, Caden (Cinco), Titan and Laila Gailliard; Emilia, Oaklyn, and Navy Asher. She is also survived by her sister Marianne (Kem) Triebel Grogan of Chandler, Az, sisters-in-law Ursula Keiski of Schenectady, Linda (David) Bodner of Pass Christian, Ms and former son-in-law Robert Neiles of Albany; many nieces and nephews, and cousins including Steve McLenithan of Shushan, Richard (late Katie) McLenithan of Hudson Falls and Al (Barbara) Keiski of The Villages, Fla.
She was predeceased by her beloved first born grandson Andrew Weinman Van Wie (who spent most of his birthday's having Chinese at Grandma's), brother David Keiski, brother-in-law Harry Grogan and sister-in-law E. Dianne (Auntie Di) Howard. She also had a very special relationship (which included a weekly bowling league) with her late mother-in-law Effie (Curlander) Weinman.
The family will be holding a private memorial. Donations in her name, if you wish, to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region or American Lyme Disease Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to her devoted caregivers Beverly Lewis, Fran Drzymala and most especially to Danny for the past three years. And to the Commanders of the U.S.S. Reagan who granted Nikolas leave upon his return from his year-long deployment off Japan. We are eternally grateful.
