Karen A. Carmel, 65, cherished and adoring wife of Mark E. Carmel passed from this world on December 31, 2020 after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Blanche Brennan Szostak,
Karen was a retired senior paralegal with Albany County Dept of Law and Social Services.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother William E. Szostak and nephews Michael and Joshua Szostak.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mark, brother Edward W. (Claudette), sister in law Marybeth Szostak, cherished nieces, Nadine (Sean) Mortimer, Beth and Christina Szostak, nephew Christopher Szostak, grand niece Alyssa Mortimer, grandnephews Brennan Mortimer and Michael Szostak. Karen knew and loved many people, too numerous to mention, however her oldest and dearest friend Terri Norris Mandel is at the forefront of those who will miss her.
In light of Covid restriction, a memorial mass will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Karen would have loved contributions to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Avenue Menands NY
