Karen Christiansen

Clifton Park- Karen L. Christiansen, 71, passed away peacefully at Ellis Hospital, on September 4th.

Karen was born in Amsterdam, NY in 1943 to her loving parents Douglas and Doris Branch. She is a graduate of Colonie Central High School.

Karen is predeceased by Marlin Christiansen, her loving husband of 32 years. Karen and Marlin enjoyed many years of traveling, camping, and dancing together.

Karen is survived by her children; James (Cynthia) Christiansen, Cynthia (Edward) Barbagelata, and Tracy (Michael) Fahy, and her five grand-children; Karsten, Brandon, Hannah, Nathaniel, and Hunter.

Karen was a nurse at Albany Memorial Hospital and then became a devoted mother and homemaker. She also worked as a demonstrator at Price Chopper. She was an admired member of the Red Hat Society.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cannon Funeral home, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, NY, on Sunday, September, 7th, from 1pm to 3pm, with a Memorial Service directly following. Burial will be held at Jonesville Cemetery, in Clifton Park, off exit 10, at 10am.
