Karen E. Lombardo

Karen "Karine" E. Lombardo, 84, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2023 at St. Peter's Hospice after a short illness. Karine was born in Shushan, NY to the late Ingvald Kvinlaug and Mary Skants Kvinlaug. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her siblings, Clara Viele, Sigrid Struck and Ole Kvinlaug.

Karine spent most of her life in the Capital Region working as a waitress at the Golden Fox Restaurant and later as a seamstress at The Country Miss and Fashion Care Cleaners. She loved watching her son, Frank and grandson, Adam race motorcycles, enjoyed trips to the casino and mostly took pride in her beautiful gardens around her home.

Karine is survived by her husband, Vincent K. Lombardo; her son, Francis (Deborah) J. Carpinello, Jr. and her brother, Martin (Evelyn) Kvinlaug. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Chad Carpinello, Kylie (John) Zanghi; Kailyn (Bryan) Kettlewood and Adam Carpinello; nine great granchildren, Camryn Eaton, Owen, Leo and Willow Zanghi, Blake, Teagan, Nash and Lennon Kettlewood and Colton Carpinello; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet on Monday, January 16, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home at 12:00 pm. Interment will immediately follow in Blooming Grove Rural Cemetery, Rte. 4, Rensselaer.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Peter's Hospital Hospice Unit.
